Achievements

In this era of globalization, women's rights, empowerment and creation of work-friendly environment are essential to build a progressive society. The Department of Women's Affairs is working to establish women's rights and development in the mainstream of the state and society. Office of Upazila Women Affairs Officer, Raipur, Lakshmipur has provided food assistance to poor women through VGD program in last 3 years. Maternity Allowance is provided to women. Lactating allowance support provided to working women. Small loans have been provided to women. Donations are distributed through the association. Housing and sanitary latrines and livelihood materials have been distributed to selected women under the Swapna Package program for poverty alleviation. Under the IC VGD programme, VGD women are provided with financial assistance and life skills and income generation training by contracted NGOs.  Direct and indirect legal assistance has been provided to various women. In pursuit of victory, Bangladesh overcomes the odds by competing to establish women in various sectors of society. Out of them, in the last 3 years in 5 categories, women have been encouraged to move forward by selecting and awarding the best winners at the upazila level. Various programs have been taken according to National Action Plan-2013 for the implementation of National Women Development Policy-2011.
